If you are using TV, you're gonna get a lot of input lag. In fact, it seems like most of the problems you are facing stems from this:Īlso, the sounds just don't feel as instant as they did on the PSP. I can already mention a few from top of my mind: Analys, Enter the Universe, Nevermind, Rutin Remix, Colours of Sorrow, Hello Pinky, etc. I disagree that there aren't interesting patterns to play on Respect. They just don't have that "flow" that they did in Portable 2. The note charts for the songs make little to no sense. It takes some time to get used to it, so practice.

Playing on ps4 controller feels a lot different compared to using a psp. It seems like you aren't used to playing on a ps4 controller. It doesn't feel like it was designed with two thumbs in mind. If they brought the same pattern to Respect there would be some songs that are outright unclearable.Įdit: Having a different controller also adds to this, for example, if Hello Pinky 6B hd was brought over from Portable 2 to Respect without changing anything, it would be a level 14/15 pattern (frustrating one at that) because D-Pad in PS4 doesn't work as smoothly as the one in PSP.

No, in fact a lot of patterns got nerfed when transferred from older series to DJMAX Respect, because they changed how judgement system worked.

When I play Respect the charts are just stupidly hard. While I agree that DJMAX Portable 2 is one of the best game in the series, DJMAX Respect is the best DJMAX series released since then. I wish there was a true successor to Portable 2.

They don't even sound the same on most of the classic songs. They don't have the same zen like flow the older ones could put you into. I tried it so many times but I just get angry and quit because it doesn't FEEL like DJ Max. Also, the sounds just don't feel as instant as they did on the PSP. If you can, go back and play "Every Day" 5B. I believe the team that did that charts in 2 were the pinnacle of brilliance when it came to the note charts. I tried to play DJ Max Respect and I just can't enjoy it. There is no region lock for disks, but there are language restrictions.

Started with Portable one on the PSP and have played almost every release since then. From playing the psp djmax games for several years (since portable 1) here are my recommendations: Get the psp 3000, psp 2000 buttons and the analogue stick has some durability issues so the newer version had nicer buttons and a stronger build. Win/Win here.Hey all! Long time DJ Max player here. Otherwise, yeah, pretty much I am crippled on Keyboard, so it's awesome to hear that the patterns are the same as the PlayStation versions, and that there is a difficulty designed just for keyboards. Hope they bring back those features in the future, if development is still ongoing. This is the second fact that made me a bit sad. I also noticed that some tracks do not have sound effects/notes when you press a button. Sad to see it's no longer available/replaced with this Air Mode. I used to play Arcade Mode on the PSP all the time.

How come the PlayStation version is so lacking though? It doesn't have several tracks from the PC Version, and Arcade Mode is missing on PC which kind of bummed me out. Not sure if the refresh rate is the reason, or something they did. The game is much more responsive on 120hz monitor. I even played the same track on PlayStation and on PC, and I did much better on PC somehow. I played a couple of tracks and it is quite responsive, I must say. Otherwise all music has a joypad or keyboard playable pattern, no problem. Ps: oops, I misunderstood, I was speaking for DjMaxPortable music to respectV. (a little easy money for neowiz who recycles music and pattern from the start. All the hours I spent playing this was on PSP/Controller, which is why I had tremendous problems with Trilogy on PC. I have DJMax Respect on PS4, but since its dead there, I decided to purchase the game on Steam to use with a DualShock Controller.ĭo you know if this version on PC contains all the classic patterns designed for Controller, as well as Keyboard, or the patterns are designed for Keyboard?īecause if they are designed for Keyboard, I would probably try to get a refund. I played the classic DJMax titles on PSP when I was a kid.
